  001.   my activity generally varies. i normally do my replies in bursts and just queue them up once i have a handful replied to, depending on inspiration or how long the thread is. this queue posts once a day, but sometimes i'll bump it to 2-3 posts if i have a lot i'd like to reply to quickly. since hanako is the only muse i actively write at the moment, i may not use my queue at all! i generally try to reply to threads within a few days to a week though. and in the case of dropping threads, i normally let people know when i've lost interest or would like to start a different one! sometimes it's just losing inspiration for a thread, but i love trying others in the event of that. i don't mind having multiple threads with a single person, i just will be spread a little more so my reply timing will also vary here!  002.   my blog is independent, semi-selective, and semi-private, so i'll primarily follow people i'm interested in writing with. i don't tend to look at my follows much, so if i miss a follow and notice you in my activity, then i'll probably check you out then! if i haven't followed back it =/= i don't want to interact, so feel free to reply to minis or opens or anything like that; and in terms of characters i'll roleplay with, OCs are also welcome! however, i'm not interested in writing with other hanakos, and would prefer that if you share that same muse with me that you don't follow me. you're welcome to rp with me if you ship hananene, just please don't expect a ship out of me. i'd love to write with nenes, though! castmates in general really.

  003.   my threads usually vary in size; i go from minis to multipara depending on inspiration and the length of the reply a partner has given me. i try to match length, but sometimes i do ramble and end up writing more. you do not have to match length even if i give you a multipara reply and you reply with singlepara! as long as i have something to reply to, i don't really mind at all. my starters i try to keep to mini-singlepara length, and i let the ball roll from there into longer replies. i like to use icons also! you do not need to use icons with me whatsoever if you don't use them, though. i like to use small text as well, but that's another thing i don't mind other people not doing. i always value readability overall.  004.   ultimately, while i do ship with chemistry, hanako's not available for a ship as of the moment as i do have an active ship with rui and have had it since 2020. i'm not looking for anything else, really, as this is a single-ship blog. i don't think i can put the same kind of investment in other ships as i can with this one, and as far as other verses go, i generally headcanon rui in there somewhere, even if he's not an active participant in it.tldr; i'm single-ship and not looking.

  005.   i'm pretty lax about a lot of things but, i expect most people know basic rp etiquette. i'm stricter as far as metagaming goes. adding small actions to get stuff going is fine, and i don't normally mind for broader actions than that either, but please don't kill hanako without permission first. TWs wise, i tend to tag "tw trigger" when it comes to more explicit mentions of the triggers, and "cw contentwarning" when it comes to brief mentions of the triggers. i'll tag common sensitive content like blood, injury, insects, etc in the case of images always. also, metagaming is fine if it's your character knowing hanako is a ghost. it's verse dependent, but i don't mind that. realizing he's a ghost is fine, using his rumor as a plotpoint/starter point is doubly fine, if it's part of your characters abilities that's also fine etc etc feel free!themes present on this blog, however, are: mentions of suicide, fratricide, child abuse, child death, parental death, general supernatural themes and body horror elements.  006.   if we've interacted before and you'd like to extend getting to know one another beyond the dash, feel free to follow me on my personal tumblr, but i'm also active on bluesky and i'll give out my discord on request! admittedly, even if we haven't interacted before you're welcome to follow me regardless. i'm not very strict with it at all, i just notice follows more frequently on my bsky than tumblr.

POWERS / ABILITIES / SKILLS 
- general — as one would expect from a ghost, ordinarily, only specific people can actually see or touch him. other supernaturals, spiritually-sensitive people, exorcists. yashiro is an instance of someone who could see him, but up until they were bonded together through mermaid scales ❪ one ingested by the each of them, ❫ she couldn't really touch him. those born close to the far shore or those closer to death and will die soon also fall into the category. hanako also can see whether they're going to die soon, too, and it's how he knew yashiro had less than a year left to live.- teleportation — using hakujoudai as a kind of waypoint, hanako can port between places regardless of distance or whether something is on the near or far shore. first ports hakujoudai, then hanako. but, he's unable to port places if he doesn't know where they are exactly, such as when yashiro was in a place that was nowhere and everywhere and that could take her anywhere until he was able to figure out where she was via the link they have with one another, first.- surveillance — hanako can use hakujoudai for general surveillance, presuming that he's able to see through them, in a way. it's likely that they just speak to hanako to relay that something's happening, too, because he can also communicate with them despite other people being unable to hear them.

- levitation — hanako has been shown to be able to float around rather frequently, something he takes to doing for most of his movement. but, he can only float a few meters off the ground, and can't go into the air as high as he wants to or anything like that.- possession — though it's only been shown in one instance, hanako has the ability to possess a living human. but, he can easily get knocked back out of the person he's possessing if someone hits him and they are a mystery or someone on the near shore with spiritual affinity. essentially, exorcising him to a less extreme extent than completely destroying him. the possessed person's spirits tend to float around outside of their body, as if ejected from it completely while he has the reins, but the moment he's ejected, they immediately are returned to it.- sleep induction — much like his brother, hanako has the same technique in being able to induce sleep in someone by pressing two fingers on the target's forehead. this is shown when he induces sleep in yashiro in the picture perfect arc, and another attempt during the beginning of the severance.

- seals — hanako is able to place seals on both tangible items and people. in the case of items, he can seal powers to prevent them from being used at their full extent, and in the case of people, he can place spells of protections on people which have a number "seven" ❪七❫ in print. these seals are difficult to remove, but are likely something usable with his power as the seventh mystery.- knife — a kitchen knife, though far from an ordinary knife, as it is one that possesses power of a supernatural. he can manifest this by phasing it out of his abdominal area. he can also dismiss it at will, regardless of whether the hakujoudai are available to him or not. this knife allows him to debilitate and often weaken the powers of supernaturals, often times just incapacitating them, although it has been shown to completely destroy a supernatural as well. it cannot be used on humans. it's also the same knife that he used to take his own life.- boundary — hanako's own boundary has not been explicitly shown thus far, but it can be assumed that his boundary was actually shown in chapter 21, because yashiro is in a room with the broadcasting club that closely resembles the layout of hanako's old house.

  1. Notes about my portrayal — about the only thing i'm really canon divergent on re: hanako's feelings is hanako's feelings for nene. he still strongly cares for her, but he does not hold any romantic feelings for her whatsoever. i instead redirect those to rui usually, because i've had this crossover ship with my wife for half a decade now and it's very important to me. i'm sorry if you disagree

  2. there are however, several other things i'm canon divergent on. such as: i headcanon very strongly that hanako's a trans boy. "aside from my gender everything else you've heard is true," ... "... there aren't any stories anywhere about a boy Hanako-san ... it really is weird ... why is he the only one...?" etc etc. when i reread the manga again i'll include more of the examples i've forgotten, but this is just personal headcanons of mine. i don't generally agree with other people's headcanons for him ❪ in rare cases i do, ❫ so you don't particularly need to agree with me either! it's all for fun at the end of the day

  3. i also headcanon him as gay. this is a preference of mine personally because i've enjoyed the chemistry he's had with other male characters, and honestly i don't like much of how he is with girls. i'm a lesbian myself, and i usually just ship the girls with other girls. i like more of those than my hanako ships, which... i don't have any within his own canon. i do see the appeal of some, though

  1. in a relationship with rui generally. this is pretty consistent throughout my verses even if i'm not explicit about rui being in the verse! i normally include him in there in some way, so... he's pretty much taken if not crushing on rui. i'm very normal about this crossover ship you see The Voices etc etc. i could probably include more information about his relationship with rui in all of the verses i have, but we'll see if i do i suppose

  2. i had a note for retconning his dirty jokes/perverted aspects, but he hasn't made these jokes since the beginning of the manga anyway. i don't feel like they're as relevant anymore, especially since through development how he behaved before re: perverted stuff mortifies him now. i feel like this is important development for him, so i'm not retconning them out anymore!

  3. i do generally still retcon nene slapping him. personally i think their relationship is better without it and it's unnecessary. i think the abused kid should not be hit by someone he cares so much for when he's been abused by people he's cared about before. also there's something about being gentle with him despite it all that gets to me

main verse.

PRETTY MCUH SET AT REALLY ANY POINT IN TBHK'S TIMELINE. i'll likely adjust to the point in time someone would like to use, whether that's most recent chapters or earlier chapters. in the event i write amane from this, he's the same thing! i have some aus where amane swapped somewhere on dying, like one where he's a fictional character but when he dies he becomes 'real.' though he still retains the scar on his stomach from dying.generally speaking, i usually keep his canonpoint after the start of the severance, but it's very flexible. even in the event i have it up to date with the manga, there's still the whole retconning his feelings for nene so i don't really mind doing ones past this. recent chapters ❪ chapter 128+ ❫ are very cute to me re: 12 y/o amane showing up, so i'd be willing to do more involving him too!i will insert main verse tag here.

branched timeline (sensei.)

THIS IS A HUNTING GROUND, AND I'M JUST IN CHARGE OF FEEDING. genuinely just a really self-indulgent verse where i write Hot Cursed Man. amane's in his mid-ish 20s ❪ around 25-26, but 25 for sure as of the class photo on tsuchigomori's desk. ❫ obviously a victim to the red house, he sacrifices most people that he's able to to said house, including his own family. his morals are off, believing that there's no significance between life and death. he's likened to a monster, and, well, he kind of is. both in how he behaves and the fact that he very obviously has some influence from the house take him over. tentacles, warped face, he sacrifices people to the red house god without any regard for their lives, even saying that the lives lost in this house don't matter, ultimately.he's a pretty sad case of someone who lost himself to depravity, becoming another victim of the very house he lived in for 25+ years. even if the house uses him for its own benefit, he is still responsible for the fact that he does sacrifice people. he's absolutely not human anymore, in any case."When food wanders in, I have to offer it all up."i will insert sensei tag here.

"canonverse."

THIS IS SET WHERE I'D NORMALLY WRITE IN AN MFRP-LIKE SETTING. which is basically just: isekai'd somewhere else, etc, etc, but he's able to be seen and interacted with by other people. it kinda branches off of the last mfrp i was in in the sense of retaining memories and stuff of the like, but this is also pretty self-indulgent? it does not retain every aspect of my last mfrp though, and only has similarities when it's in regards to hanako not being in kamome anymore. it's pretty blank slate otherwise. but i think it offers more freedom for him rather than being shackled to a school, while still maintaining his development in his own canon.this is the primary verse i default to when it comes to hanako being in different worlds / areas. i value the relationships he has with other characters in the series, so i don't say he lost his memories or anything like that. they are very much still in tact!i will insert "canonverse" tag here.

monster nursery.

HIS NAME IS RESEARCH A ❪ AMANE ❫ IN THIS ONE! his general task is raising and caring for monsters that hatch from eggs. he's the elder identical twin brother of researcher t, whom he's basically the polar opposite of. he's very serious, but holds a sentimental attachment to the monsters he cares for. monsters he's raised are said to have a dual nature, but otherwise he's a model student that hasn't taken too great of a risk yet. he also puts a lot of effort into bringing up intelligent monsters, and does a pretty good job with that, because they're noted to have the highest intellect and can read even difficult books. from the interactions we see with him and the last monster he's raised

bakeneko ryokan.

hanako is a nekomata in this au, a type of bakeneko. he's the innkeeper of an inn called the bakeneko ryokan hanako-tei. he likes catnip, along with - well, basically eating humans, as to be expected of a bakeneko. he hires either cats or other bakeneko only, and his technical owner is tsukasa, whom he took the general appearance of after becoming a bakeneko ❪ he was just a regular black cat before there was a fire that burned the troupe tent down, likely started by a knocked over lantern. ❫ he does take his cat-form sometimes when doing things around the inn, maybe even more often than his humanoid form.i will insert bakeneko ryokan tag here.

ayaka6 / idol.

demon slayer verse.

SET IN THE KIMETSU NO YAIBA UNIVERSE; in this one he's a demon slayer. becoming one with tsukasa after their parents were slaughtered by demons, they both retain scars where their seals in main verse would be. this is generally set pre-natagumo arc, but i wouldn't mind branching beyond that otherwise. this one is pretty canon divergent in that rui lives and amane's basically hiding him away after they both grow a mutual attachment to one another. it takes a bit to get there, but they do. i mostly write this one with my partner, but i'd be okay with using it as a verse with other people too!i will insert kny tag here.

misc verses.

MISCELLANEOUS STUFF. i'll write for just about anything, but not everything. i tend to stick to series that i enjoy a lot, or branch off of canonical AUs aidairo have taken part in / wrapped stories around. i'd be willing to write up verses specific to rp partners if that's something they'd want, but i'll say if a plot isn't something i'm interested in doing. this is just for like... you know, AoT / rurouni kenshin / hazbin / harry potter and stuff like that. i'm not into those things as far as their creators go, and even less into using their stories as plot points. you're welcome to still ask me if there's a type of series i would be interested in making a verse in, though!i do not know if i will have a specific tag for these . maybe? who knows... if i do i will insert it here

addendum.

IN REGARDS TO HANANENE, i'm not going to write it nor acknowledge canon in this regard. every au i have set involves rui in some way when it comes to who hanako directs his romantic feeling towards, even if he's not an active participant in my replies. i will not budge on this, but everyone's allowed creative liberty, really. i just don't really like the ship even in the event other rpers also retcon that nene slaps him. but, i do ultimately feel like that makes their relationship better. not slapping him, that is. hanako cares about nene deeply, and i won't ignore that at all, i just write him differently and not... you know, crushing on her. maybe someday i could like it, but it'd probably take a lot longer than it's taken me to get to this point on it's own. i like writing with nenes, though! i like writing with other castmates in general, and i like being able to explore dynamics further with other people. if i look intimidating i really do not mean to be at all, feel free to interact with me!!

itty bitty. she is tiny as hell. he won't say as much and she's a bit of a pain to deal with when she uses her power to mess with time, but otherwise he's fine with her.

he likes him! thinks he's funny, likes that akane does not like him, because despite not liking him, he doesn't try to exorcise him. still doesn't respect him at all, but he doesn't dislike him.

she's like an older sister if an older sister kept biting you and you kept threatening her that you'll turn her into kitsune udon

rocky relationship at first, but seems to have somewhat of a better one. hanako's not trying to wipe him off the face of the planet at least, and seems to have accepted his role as school mystery number three. honestly i feel like they have a lot of potential of actually becoming friends somewhat. i think their antics are funny

she does not like him. he probably still thinks all of the school mysteries are his friends

admittedly a pretty decent father figure for him. their banter is funny to me. tsuchigomori knew hanako when he was alive as amane yugi, and despite tsuchigomori trying to play it off that he didn't care all that much re: amane's state, it's evident that he did.

parental trauma. very much seems like her relationship with her children got worse and worse to the point after tsukasa came back she started physically abusing amane. unclear why exactly, just that she did, and he never talked about it

parental trauma to a lesser degree, though could likely tack on "abandonment," as it seems like he walked out on them but came back later. all four family members died in the red house, so he had to have come back for something. regardless, this very clear image amane has was his father leaving

pretty sure the one he spoke to was the one under his house, as he mentions speaking to god who said that he can atone as hanako-san. they both tie together really well in regards to granting wishes and stuff of the like, being under the red house, amane dying in the red house. i really don't believe he spoke to a different god than this.

though we the reader can surmise how this tsukasa is connected to when he was four years old, hanako/amane had no idea. genuinely believing his brother to be dead, he's under the impression that this tsukasa is a fake.
